Process
All products are cut, sewn and riveted in our workshop at 290 Mcdermott ave in Winnipeg, Manitoba. We craft our products in small batches ranging from 4-8, with the exception of a few made to order items. This ensures the thoroughness and attention to detail that is required to make quality hand made products. We believe in timeless designs that age well and won’t expire with ever-changing technological trends. Each design is put through rigorous field testing (Thanks to our friends) to ensure ruggedness and practicality of use.
Materials
The materials used to construct our products are all derived from natural fibres that allow the products to age gracefully. With the appropriate care (See product care here) your product will act as a unique form of documentation from your daily excursions and travels.
Leather
Full grain vegetable tanned leather embraces the most durable portion of the animals hide. Nicks and blemishes that the animal accumulates throughout its life span are all normal attributes of full grain leather. We employ particular care when choosing the correct weight and portion of the hide for each product. The variance in shade and grain consistency from product to product is what makes each product unique.
Cloth
The cotton duck canvas and twills both dry and waxed will gain unique fades and creases throughout their lifespan. The cotton allows for the application and renewal of your own waterproofing waxes.
Metals
The solid brass and copper used in our rivets and hardware not only provide strength and durability but will oxidize and darken with use.
We do our best to source all of our materials from suppliers who are proud of their process and conscientious towards environmental and labour laws. We aim to be as transparent as possible in this area and strive to continually improve as we grow. Please do not hesitate to inquire if you have any questions or concerns.
